Small Animal Radiation Research Platform
Overview
Small Animal Radiation Research Platform (SARRP) incorporates CT imaging with precise radiation delivery to enable researchers to pinpoint an exact anatomical target and confidently deliver 0.5 mm beams to that point. This small animal irradiator can then deliver single or multiple beams of radiation to the target with the upmost accuracy, matching the clinical techniques used in oncology departments around the world.
SARRP’s key advantage is that it drives research forward with truly matched technology that unlocks your research potential. The combination of high-resolution CT imaging, dynamic couch and gantry movements to support both simple and complex arc therapy, intuitive treatment planning software, and expert customer support sets SARRP above other research systems.
Features
- Iso-centre accuracy to 0.25mm
- On board cone beam CT and image reconstruction
- Minimum field size of 0.55mm diameter
- Dynamic jaws allow investigators to dictate field sizes ranging from 1mm x 1mm, up to 40mm x 80mm, so that it is easy to perform both small and large field irradiation.
- 360° gantry and 360° robic specimen stage enable non-coplanar field arrangements
Applications
- Radiobiology
- Pre-clinical studies
- DNA damage response
- Tumour biology and the micro-environment
- Radiosensitizers
- Cardiovascular toxicity
- Oncology research
Muriplan
Precise dose delivery is also important in preclinical radiation research. SARRP’s open system integration offers researchers flexibility to select from several treatment planning solutions to create and deliver simple or complex beam arrangements in a clinically relevant way. Techniques utilizing planar static beams, parallel opposed beams, continuous arc therapies, multiple isocenter treatments, and non-planar arcs can all be planned, evaluated, and delivered with SARRP. Researchers with little to no knowledge of radiation therapy are able to easily plan and execute studies using either Muriplan or SmART-XPS.
